With all the fighting and purging in the name of religion....is religion causing more harm than good? And should it be banned?

I don’t think it should be banned entirely, but it should be banned from government.

@Caprice then what about Sharia law? It's a religious/government hybrid. What do you do about that?

@Caprice then those people have no place and do not belong in western society

This isn’t just about Sharia. Let me be clear. In my opinion, any government that incorporates religion should change its practices. @Mongoheadmonster

@Caprice so freedom of religion....but ones who believe in Sharia law...those ones are not allowed...correct?

You realize that there are places in the world where the government is run by religious beliefs. Things like stonings and honour killings are government sanctioned. The people who believe in this system do not recognize any other system.

So how can we allow people in who believe that, and still retain our "freedom of religion" rule??

We have a problem

I never said I believed in freedom of religion. You said that. I said religion and government should be separate.
But yes, if your religion requires honor killings and stoning, then my opinion is that it should be banned. ANY religion that self governs rather than recognize the established laws of a secular government should not be tolerated. This is not a one world nation now, and it never will be. You know why? @Caprice freedom of religion....the Constitution says that. Freedom of religion in Canada is a constitutionally protected right, allowing believers the freedom to assemble and worship without limitation or interference.

So then does it need revised? 🤔 I think it does
