God’s Word reminds followers of Jesus, that cursing is the language of the devil, and should never come out of their mouths. [Spirituality & Religion]

Popular movies and TV are responsible for causing society to except foul language as the “norm“. But for those who say they love God, it should not be a part of their language or character, as a new creation in Christ.

Colossians 3:8-10: “But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth. Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices, and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator.”

Ephesians 5:4: “Let there be no filthiness nor foolish talk nor crude joking, which are out of place, but instead, let there be thanksgiving.”

Matthew chapter 15, verse 11: “It is not what goes into the mouth that defiles a person, but what comes out of the mouth; this defiles a person.”
Many would do good, to bridle their tongue. You say you love God? Blessings and cursing should never come from the same mouth.

“Whoever keeps his mouth and his tongue, keeps himself out of trouble.” (Proverbs 21:23) How great a forest is set ablaze, by such a small fire!

He has transformed us into new creatures by the Holy Spirit. I see way too many, who say they love God, yet you’d never know it by their actions or language, including abbreviations for curse words in sentences. God said that should not be so. Besides that, it is a very bad witness for Christ, and confuses people as to who and what you really are.

As followers of Jesus, and a new creation in him, we are representatives of him. Everything we say and do, reflects on our Lord. We either are, or aren’t, a child of God. Let’s not make him ashamed.

We are accountable for everything we say and do for Christ, and on his behalf. Let us represent him, and what he has done for us, in the most positive way. Jesus gave his very best for us. How can we give him less?

Let’s show him just how much we love him, in both word and deed. Not because we have to… But because we want to. It is our honor and privilege to do so.

God knows that like all others, we are still subject to sinning, since we’re still on this earth, yet we are thankfully saved by grace...our sins forgiven upon receiving Jesus as Lord and Savior. We need to act like it. He knows full well, we’re not perfect, yet we CAN live by His Word, out of love and respect for Him. If you claim to love Jesus, how many people will you turn off, by your mouth and actions? Please keep that in mind. As I mentioned, we are not perfect, but when that one sin keeps popping up time and again, that’s no excuse. That’s a deliberate, chosen decision to sin against God...not repentance. When it’s repentance, it’s a sorrow your heart won’t soon forget, nor want to ever repeat. “Ye shall know them by their fruit.”

This is bad, but I would rather curse, than snap and end up in prison for doing something horrible. I honestly think sometimes that if God really cares about humanity, he would spell it out in a language we all can understand how to fix the problems of the world, because it's not getting better. People are starving, wars and rumours of wars are everywhere, and people are going crazy, killing each other.
I have believed we're here to help others, but how?
Religion doesn't help, mind you, this is just my opinion, and not meant to cause any problems.

Thank you, my friend, for sharing your true feelings and for being honest about them. God is not oblivious to our feelings. We live in a different, crazy world these days. God hasn’t lost us, I assure you. It’s America, who has turned it’s back on God. Not all, but some. We see the consequences of our actions, and believe it or not, we are getting a glimpse of where our sins have taken us, which tells us exactly why we need Jesus. Jesus said this:

I honestly think sometimes that if God really cares about humanity, he would spell it out in a language we all can understand how to fix the problems of the world

He is. And He did. He’s trying to show us. This world has shown Him time after time, that we don’t love Him, nor do we want any part of Him. We’re just not listening and learning. People don’t realize what great lengths Jesus went to, to not only save us, but to show us that things will never go right when we have sin in this world and in our lives, me included, but just because we have sin in our lives, we don’t have to succumb to it. We have options. If we didn’t have problems, we’d never learn and grow in Christ. What’s more...people don’t realize that if we didn’t have Jesus, we’d never have access to God the Father and we’d be lost forever! Jesus is our only Mediator between God and man. He’s our friend!

NONE of us are perfect. Certainly not me. I’m ashamed when I sin. I do know that the more I pray and the closer I stay to God, the better my life is, as He helps me and gives me the strength not to sin. Whenever I pray, He’s right there. Not just for me, but all who call on His name. We never surprise God when we fall short of his grace. He knows all about us and he’s more than willing to help us. All we have to do, thankfully, is ask. But never forget that even though we fall at times, God never abandons us, nor stops loving us. I think when we try to be more conscientious and aware of what’s going on around us, we can stop and take a breath, knowing how we’re feeling and what’s coming up, and are more able to remind ourselves that we can be responsible, and don’t have to blow up, but instead, ask God to help us in our weaknesses by praying about this problem way before we face this situation. Not easy, no...but doable.

That’s just it. God wants us to learn that we can’t fix the problems of this world. That’s why this world needs Christ. You know, I was also thinking about the fact that sometimes people cause their own problems and then blame God. And no… I certainly do not mean you! We all do that at times. We get ourselves in a pickle, or do what we know we shouldn’t, then we wonder why everything went wrong and our lives so difficult. God certainly loves to lead us and help us in our ways, and provides how to do that in His Word. It is a beautiful guide on how to live life and be happy. And it works! We’re in training here. If we can’t learn how to love people here, how will we love them when we get to Heaven? God has prepared for us, a wonderful place and life in heaven, where they’ll be no more sin, pain, or crying. But for now, He also wants to prepare US, because we certainly can’t drag our sin into heaven with us. It wouldn’t be heaven if we did. It’s no surprise. Jesus knows full well we sin. That’s why he’s giving us this opportunity right now, to ask him for forgiveness of our sins, so that we shall no longer be separated from God the Father. That’s really not much to ask of us, I don’t think. After all....Jesus did the hard part by paying for our sins on the cross. However, the problem comes in, when people don’t want any part of Jesus or that, and so when they die, they still carry those sins in them and on them, which completely separates them from God the father. This was not the will of God, who loves them, at all. But when they refuse His offer of forgiveness, they tie God’s hands. If they don’t want anything to do with Jesus or forgiveness, God honors their choice. If only they had asked for forgiveness and invited Jesus into their heart and life, they would’ve been forgiven and their sins completely erased, forever. I’m sorry this was so long.

Always lovely to hear from you. 🌹🤗

You’re so right. Religion never helps, because religion is man-made philosophy. Not a personal relationship with Jesus. Religion didn’t die on the cross for our sins. Jesus did. @SW-User
