An atheist guy likes me but I’m a Christian [Spirituality & Religion]

But I think I’m
Falling for him sometimes I think of him
Put that out of your mind, right now. God warns about that. Do it, and I guarantee you’ll never like the outcome. You’ll be headed for destruction. How do I know? Been there, done that. What a miserable life. What fellowship can darkness have with Light??? You’ll be unequally yolked! It never works, and you cannot change them. Being a Christian, you must have read what God said about that, in His Word. Will you really go against God’s message on this? You’ll find nothing but trouble and deep sorrow.

Don’t allow Satan to fool you on this.

Stay on the straight and narrow pathway.

@LadyGrace Well said!

Do not be unequally yoked.

A person who doesn't share your core values would not make a good long term partner in life. Also, when two people from entirely different religions or beliefs get married, it can be successful...until they have children. Then there is a strong tendency for the two sides of the family to fight over the religious training (or lack of it) of the children.

For a casual date, or a brief time of dating, it could be fun to spend time with someone who doesn't think like you. But please understand that you probably do not have a long term future together or at least not one without a lot of difficulties.

I'm Catholic and fiancé is Pagan, I don't think it matters as long as you like the guy 😁
Lorna · 26-30, F
Well it just feels awkward cuz he ain’t a Jesus lover like me @ArianaRose25
ArianaRose25 · 26-30
I'm not a hardcore Jesus lover either. If that really bothers you, then don't do it.
And that’s exactly why it feels awkward to you. God is trying to tell you not to do that. @Lorna
Forget it or forget your belief - something is going to give - do it now instead of prolong this inevitable disaster.
Lorna · 26-30, F
He always cuts me down anyways @MarmeeMarch
@Lorna Oh hell - no brainer - so is this the type of person you want to grow old with ? save your sanity and just be friends if thats possible but NO romance -
Amen to that! @MarmeeMarch

IMO it’s fine to be with an atheist. If you have kids, they’ll be exposed to both sides.
greenmountaingal · 70-79, F
@InvaderNice And, as the kids grow up, two fighting sides of their families.
InvaderNice · 26-30, M
@greenmountaingal If those “fighting sides” are immature and don’t know how to agree to disagree, yes.
Not a good move according to scripture but these things happen in reality
So ?

As long as you respect each other's beliefs , you can be happy together.
you should ask him out it doesn't matter if he's atheist or not

How solid are you in your faith?
If your on the fence, you have to make a choice. As the bible says, you cannot serve two masters. Meaning you can't have a foot in two camps of thought and expect to have any true belief in either one.
If your faith is strong, you can probably handle it, if its not, it will cause you problems untill you make up your mind where you want to be.

Ask yourself this, who is more important in your life, God or him?
Pfuzylogic · M
You need respect from him; that is unconditional for a happy life.

age-old tale... *sigh*
KingofPizza2 · 36-40, M
Lots of successful couples have different beliefs, it’s only a problem if you or he chooses to make it one
LusiG · 26-30, F
Find common ground in the middle: eternal life without need of God.

Who cares what you two believe in? If you two love each other, then be with each other.
