I'm so tired of Christians arguing that other christians who do hateful things they disagree with aren't real christians. [Spirituality & Religion]
maybe there's SOMETHING to the argument that Hitler was just PRETENDING to be christian to win the catholic churches cooperation.
I could accept that theory but he claimed to be one in much of his propaganda and had a broad base of christian supporters.
and his words probably won over people who were followers of his to the christians whether they were sincere or not.
Back then the Christians weren't in support of the Jews to build up israel like they are today they blamed them for killing jesus and wanted to gas and kill millions of them.
the blame for the holocaust largely rest on christians, modern christians don't want to accept this or be associated with it so they engage in using the no true scotsman fallacy to argue he wasn't a christian.
there's a strain of christianity that still exist among neonazis called positive christianity which really isn't positive at all and is just blatantly racist. Christian apologist will argue these people aren't christian but what are we supposed to do not take people at their word and accept your purity argument to say they were impure?
christians have done horrible things in the past. there's blood on their hands. Maybe they're peaceful now but they have a history of burning books and destroying pagan temples etc.
