Your Favorite Christmas Carol Is? [Spirituality & Religion]

Merry Christmas! This is mine...it is well know in USA I am sure but you may not know it is based on a very old Czech Christmas carol and was translated into English in 1940 by a Czech artist who had fled to the United States from the Nazi occupation of Bohemia-Moravia. That he could have composed something so beautiful in the depth of his sadness with his family was living in Hell on earth at that moment is a testament not just to him but to the power of Christ and beauty of the season. It is The Little Drummer Boy sung as he originally worte it acapella...listen please to how the singers stress the words the boy uses who in sorrow and embarrassment says how he "has no gift to bring ... that's FIT TO GIVE OUR KING...just the sort of thing a child would say.

This is by far the best version in English and hope you enjoy it...my gift to you and again MERRY CHRISTMAS!

@Atrevido1 Yes ... I love Mario Lanza's version - beautiful and powerful....

"Chains He shall break, for the slave is a brother -

and in His name oppression shall cease!

Christ - is the LIGHT!"

I cry when I hear it. Then after I dry them I want to go on CRUSADE!

@Atrevido1 Yes it is glorious....I played it many times today and at FULL VOLUME for my Moslem "friends" to whom music is forbidden!

My way of Testifying...for which I can be arrested, whipped and deported ... at the very least. But I am only a little afraid.
