Really, we need religion in order to believe in God? [Spirituality & Religion]

Who, in their right mind, would think such thing?

Depends on your definition of what the concept of "god" is.
If it's "god" as a deity then it's defined to what religion you've chosen to affiliate with, otherwise you can believe in something more but just not define it as "god".
I think his meaning in this post is clear without dissecting it. He’s speaking of Almighty God. Religion and relationship are two different things, when it comes to God. Religion is not a part of a born-again believer’s choice. We choose God without the necessity of involving man-made philosophy. @Bebop
@Bebop God did not come to save denominations.
There shall be people from all denominations that shall be saved, but God is interested in saving individuals . Sinners who see their need for God and ask Him to save them. He didn't say he came to save Mormons or Baptists or Lutherans or any denominations. He came to save the individual person. Religion is man-made philosophy , not God's instruction on how to be saved. There's nothing sacred about religion. Religion did not die on the cross to save us from our sins. Jesus did. One cannot earn their salvation.
