This seems to be snippet from an Oxford Union Debate... so where's the rest of the debate?

Specifically, where's the reply in rebuttal? Why has that been edited out?
CharlieZ · 70-79, M
@newjaninev2 To make a rebbutal on an assertion there should be at least SOME content to be debated.
Mere rethoric is not worth enough.

He wasn't debating anybody.
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@GodSpeed63 So the Oxford Union Society logo at the beginning of the snippet was there accidentally?
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@newjaninev2 What does the Oxford Union Society logo have to do with whether or not someone is in a debate or not?
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@GodSpeed63 sigh!

Here are some clues:

This chap (the non-scientist) is in formal dress... as are all present.
There's an audience.
He's delivering a brief monologue.
The event is under the auspices of the Oxford Union Society.
The debate officials are behind Lennox while he speaks
After his rhetoric is delivered, Lennox immediately goes and sits with the speakers for the affirmative...

In short... do you have any idea at all what the Oxford Union debates actually are, how they are structured, and what happens there?
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@GodSpeed63 So... where's the rest of the debate!?
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@newjaninev2 Why are you looking for a debate where there is none. As you can see, the video would've clearly stated that it was a debate.
CharlieZ · 70-79, M
@GodSpeed63 True...what a fool would debate with such a collection of shallow statements??
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@GodSpeed63
looking for a debate where there is none

Here's Peter Millican for the negative... responding to Peter Lennox's statements for the affirmative.

Within the first few minutes you'll see Lennox quite clearly, and at 10:45 he mentions Lennox's claims, and the two men interact... in fact, this happens throughout the video.

I'm unsure how any even half-way educated adult cannot be familiar with the Oxford Union Debates, but perhaps that very lack is relied on by the duplicitous indoctrinators who peddle edited clips as some sort of uncontested statement.

Wrong, as we now see
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@newjaninev2
Wrong, as we now see

If that is true, I admit that I was wrong. However, whether that be true or not doesn't change the fact that God isn't some thing that science created but that He is a person who created science instead.
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@GodSpeed63 Try to finally get a hold of this reality... science doesn't care one iota about claims of magical entities. Science has absolutely no interest in such postulations and the subsequent unsupported claims.

Try to finally get a hold of this reality

Try to finally get a hold of this reality, science has no self awareness and, therefore, doesn't have a clue of where it came from. Another reality to get a hold of is that I'm not talking about magical entities, If you want to believe in them, it's your choice. I choose to believe in the one true God, Yahweh. Jehovah is another name that He goes by.

That is a magical entity, even you claim it performs feats of magic such as making a universe appear from nothing. Of course, it's really just a figment of your imagination but you can dream.

Suzie Q, if believe in magical entities, that's your choice. I choose to believe in the one true God, Yahweh, whom I know and believe lives forever. Now if you're going to call Him a magical entity, then come up with some substantial evidence that support your claim. Otherwise, your just lying to yourself and everyone around you.
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@GodSpeed63 Did you even watch the rebuttal? Or are you too narrow minded to even think of doing so?
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@GodSpeed63 Magic violates the physical laws of the universe. If your yahweh thing doesn't ever do that, then it's not magical. So, does it ever violate the physical laws of the universe?
suzie1960 · 61-69, F
@GodSpeed63

Your memory must be really failing. You have claimed many times that your made up "god jehovah" thing has magical powers, such as being able to violate the laws of physics. Are you now saying it can't?
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@suzie1960

I'm wondering if you're memory is failing. I don't have any made up gods. I have the only one true God, Yahweh, whom you can't seem to dethrone regardless of your unsupported claims. There is nothing that is impossible for Yahweh, also known as Jehovah; although, unlike man, His wisdom is sound.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@GodSpeed63 And yes Yahweh can transcend the laws of physics. I have seen Him do it.
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@hippyjoe1955
Yahweh can transcend the laws of physics

Magic!
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@newjaninev2 Nope Creator's prerogative.
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
@hippyjoe1955 so you're saying that it can transcend the laws of physics because it's a god, and it's a god because it can transcend the laws of physics?
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@newjaninev2 Yahweh is Greater than His Creation and can do with it as He determines. Your 'god' is too small.
