Why do Theists and Conspiracy Theorists always go by the same like of argument? [Spirituality & Religion]

Both of them are fear based, maybe not all but certainly all the fundamentalists are. There's probably conspiracy theorists who are religious fundamentalists as well, these are usually the most extreme.

What’s the common line of argument?
“God told me to do it”?

Do they? Satan might be an example, I suppose- but the major theme is salvation.
