For a religion to survive in the long term it must acquire new members, and that means it must take in converts by any means. Religions that leave others be will disappear.

@Atomic But they have to at least know a religion exists before they can convert to it. And what's more, they would need reasons to prefer it over other religions. This is why proselytizers make such hard pitches. They are competing for the survival of their religion. They may not realize it, but that's what they are doing.
