People who make fun and criticize other’s beliefs, like they’ve done here to you, is simply a lack of understanding on their part, which leads to the false conclusion that you’re wrong. They are not teachable if they’re not at least willing to hear you out before drawing conclusions.
@LadyGrace People who feel compelled to broadcast their beliefs on social media, should be prepared for others to criticize and mock them.

"But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you." Matthew 6:6
A common characteristic of this fallen world is mockery. Unbelievers sometimes mock God, take His name in vain, attack the Bible, make fun of churches and ridicule anyone who follows Jesus. This doesn't come as a surprise.

I see you’ve made a distinction between “People who feel compelled to broadcast their beliefs on social media” and others here. I find it odd that people can come on this site and give their opinion on sex, porn, witchcraft, philosophies, drugs, show cakes with private parts, display nudity, talk filthy and act rude and disrespectful to each other, curse, criticize, hate, and everything from soup to nuts, and pretty filthy stuff, too, yet no one says a thing. None are offended at that. But just let the followers of Christ come on here to simply share their beliefs, and all of a sudden we're "religious zealots", "haters", and "delusional". Yes...we're really a danger, and such a threat, sharing Jesus' love like that! This just shows how far our society and morals have decayed. I'd say that is a pretty hateful attitude to have towards people. Some need to grow up and act their age, instead of hating certain groups or races.

Whichever god one serves, I think we’d be more apt to be blessed, if we chose not to sit in the company of mockers, whose delight is typified by verbal insults or other acts of disdain. It is associated with ridicule, scoffing, and defiance. Mockery is a dishonoring attitude that shows low self-esteem, judgement, contempt, and open hostility. It reveals much about one’s own character.

@LadyGrace In case you haven't noticed, everyone on here who expresses an opinion is mocked and belittled. You're not special, lady, even if you think your pain is worse than everyone else's pain. And your Jesus isn't special, either. He's just one in an endless line of imaginary, invisible friends that humanity has come up with to explain the world and distract from our fear of death.

And it wasn't that long ago that you and your ilk would have burned someone like me at the stake. There are still places where it's unsafe to openly profess atheism. If you want respect, you should give respect. I don't know what country you live in, but here in the U.S., Christians are 70% of the population, hold the vast majority of leadership positions in government and business, yet people like you have the audacity to complain just because someone mocks your opinion when you shove it in our face.

I can only take comfort in the fact that people like you are driving others away from religion with your arrogance and condescention. Which in some sense, may be what you want. It must be gratifying to imagine that the most powerful (imaginary) being in the universe takes an intimate interest in your every thought, and will torture people like me for eternity. If that's what you need to be able to tolerate your life, knock yourself out.
I really cannot believe your arrogance. Look who is hateful and condescending. You better read your own messages to me. They’ll prove to be a mirror, reflecting the hate in you. All you’ve done is attack me, whereas, I’ve simply been sharing my beliefs. “People like you”....really?? You’re the one who got all defensive and hot under the collar. Burn you at the stake?? Really???

What you say in disrespect, has no effect on my walk with the Lord. It just doesn't matter. Jesus said to love everyone. There was no IF in that sentence. If you choose not to believe, that's up to you, but I do...live and let live, without harm. Jesus loves people—even those who mock Him.

@LeopoldBloom
I think I see why you’re so upset about religion. I see in your profile, that you believe religion is man-made. You’ve got that 100% right!!

Religions fail us every time. I follow no one but Christ, because my faith stems from Him...not man. Christian just means follower of Christ, not some religion, which is as He meant it to be. I don’t have a religion. I have a personal relationship with my Savior. Something anyone can have. That’s why I’m no more special than anyone else. We’re all equal in God’s eyes. Religion didn’t die on the cross to save me from my sins, so I could go to heaven when I die. The person of Jesus did.

Here’s the key. The determining factor of one's authentic faith relationship with God is not one's denomination, religious practice or performance in Christian disciplines, but rather the presence of the indwelling Spirit of Christ, upon confession of faith. As it is written, “if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to Him. (Rom.8:9)

@LeopoldBloom
@LadyGrace Christianity is a religion that some practitioners believe involves a "personal relationship with Jesus." This concept would have been unrecognizeable to early Christians; it didn't appear until German Pietism in the 17th century. But if you think you have an "authentic faith," wonderful. But saying Christianity isn't a religion is like saying the United States isn't a country or football isn't a sport.

If Jesus exists, he knows where to find me, and if he's omnicient, he will know what proof I will need to believe in him. So his continued absence can only mean that he either doesn't exist, or doesn't care. And if he does exist, the fact that he allows some of the most arrogant, sanctimonious, self-obsessed people to represent him, casts doubt on his integrity and even his sanity.

Anyway, if "Jesus loves me," I have nothing to lose. Surely he wouldn't send me to a nonexistent hell for not believing in him when no evidence of his existence was ever presented to me.

Just curious - imagine you get to heaven, and every person who ever lived is there. Every president, every peasant, Mother Teresa, Hitler, Charles Manson - they're all there at the right hand of Jesus. How would this make you feel? Happy? Relieved? Or angry that you were fooled and there was no need to attend church and spout Bible verses at strangers because you were going to end up in the same place anyway?
I told you before. I will not answer rude, arrogant replies and unfounded accusations. You need to learn how to treat people. Not falsely accuse them. Good day. This discussion is over between us. I gave you plenty of evidence. You just refuse to see it. @LeopoldBloom

@LadyGrace Ain't that the truth. Sometimes, you wonder if they really want to know the truth or just trying to play with your head. They keep asking for evidence and when you give it to them, they ridicule it anyways like robots programmed to do just that. Yet, they call themselves free thinkers? I don't think so.
Right. They never want to discuss things, nor know how to, without insults and unfounded accusations. That is typical of those who have already have made up their minds and usually do not believe in the first place. @GodSpeed63
