I was taught to never pray for myself. I pray for others. It is hard to gauge what is answered and what is not. God isn't a PEZ dispenser. The "answer" might not be what I expect.

@CopperCicada that is so true

@CopperCicadaJesus says "Ask me anything in my name and I will do it" John 14:14

God wants you to talk to him and you can ask for things. If you love Jesus and put him first then He will fulfill your greatest desires in your heart, he says. All He wants to see is your faith!

@Carazaa yes he's interested in every detail of our lives
@Carazaa I was taught it is wrong to pray for oneself. So of one has a headache, one doesn't pray to be relieved of one's terrible pain. One prays for everyone who has a headache to be relieved of pain.

@CopperCicada ok its good to pray for others but it is not a sin to pray for yourself too. where did you hear that?
@Carazaa It was part of my religious instruction coming up. Never pray for oneself. Only others.

It's like pulling on my mom's apron yelling I'm hungry as opposed to setting the table so everyone can eat.
