Overwhemling Desire To Be Right Vs Truth [Spirituality & Religion]

Why is it that people have the overwhelming desire to be right and truth be hanged?

People have too many religions to choose from, so they are confused as to which is the right one. However, what they do not take into consideration, is that religion is nothing but man-made philosophies. As you mentioned, we don’t need religion. We need a relationship with God. Religion didn’t die on the cross for us. The person of Jesus did.

Most world religions include principles of living in harmony, and they believe that kind of living will bring some fulfillment. It may, but the real question is, does it bring peace with God? Does it bring eternal life?

Most religions require you to do good things to earn your way into heaven. But who can be good enough? By contrast, those who follow Jesus, are saved by grace (Ephesians 2:8-9). One is saved by putting their faith in something God has done, not something they have done, or can do. God is the one who does the “work” of saving us. Not us. And He is the One who will keep us secure in Him.

Ah, so the most convenient religion with the best rewards is totes the right one. Makes sense.

No, the most accepted religion is found in James 1:27.

@GodSpeed63 So you have to do good things after all?

@QuixoticSoul Is showing Godly love to others all that bad?
Hardly. I never said that. They just are not God’s way of getting to heaven. He sets the standard, not their idea of how to have eternal life. God makes it very clear in His Word, how to get to heaven, and theirs doesn’t match up. @QuixoticSoul
@QuixoticSoul No. You cannot earn your way to heaven by doing good works.

“It is by grace you have been saved, through faith… And this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God… Not by works, lest anyone should boast.” Ephesians chapter 2, verses 8 and 9.
