I'd be worried of a god that required or even tolerated worship.

@redredred He’s worthy of it, after all He suffered for us.

@dunpender John 4:23?
redredred · M
Yeah, requiring worship and constant praise is what psychotics do.@LadyGrace

Says you, I'm not the least bit interested in ancient scribbling about a Bronze Age myth.@LadyGrace

@redredred That’s because you don’t understand him. Dying on the cross to pay for your sins, just so you could have eternal life, is what a loving Savior does.
redredred · M
Prove that happened. I dare you to provide actual, verifiable proof. @LadyGrace

"Or even tolerated", as I said@dunpender

@redredred Ah, there’s plenty of proof if one wants to find it. For those who don’t, no proof would be enough.

Please provide such proof. Don't rely on vague feelings, deliver the proof, I dare you to try.@LadyGrace

@dunpender atheism is not a belief, it's a lack of belief. Be as factual as you can regarding this, I know it's hard.
@redredred Seek and you shall find. There’s all the proof you could find in the Bible.

@dunpender Perhaps it's like some religious fanatics. There are fundamentalist atheists and fundamentalists theists. Neither is useful.
@redredred I’ll give you one proof. The scripture teaches that every believer is indwelt by the Holy Spirit. God’s Spirit.

The Holy Spirit comes to dwell in us, when we receive Christ as our Lord and Savior (Jn. 7:37-39). The Holy Spirit coming to live within us, is evidence that Jesus is alive, well, and real. Of course, if one doesn’t believe that, they won’t believe anything about God. I, amongst many, know I have received that Holy Spirit. There is evidence of Him, in many ways.
@Bushranger You said...You see, there's the problem. There are so many flavours, all saying that they are the only truth. How are we poor mortals to know which is which?

We know which is which because Jesus himself, told us....”I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but by Me.”
Bushranger · 70-79, M
@LadyGrace But as an atheist who was once a Christian, how am I to know that what I am hearing is the truth. Because doesn't the Devil also quote scripture?
Yes, he does. However, Jesus is perfect. That means He is incapable of lying. Whereas, Satan is called the Father of Lies” and his example shows it, with all the havoc he’s done in this world. He also puts doubt in our mind. Why would Jesus lie about Satan, and suffer so horribly on the cross, if our sins didn’t separate us from God? He wouldn’t. @Bushranger

@LadyGrace But how does one differentiate the truth from the lies? Sorry but you will not convince me.

@dunpender atheist:a person who disbelieves or lacks belief in the existence of God or gods.

Thiest:the belief in one God as the creator and ruler of the universe, without rejection of revelation (distinguished from deism).

Disbelief is not a belief, atheism does not offer an alternative belief, it is not a dichotomy!
Well, if you think God is a liar, there’s no point. You’re telling God you don’t believe Him. That’s strictly up to you. @Bushranger
