Does it annoy u if... [Spirituality & Religion]

Does it annoy u if someone identifies u by a religion rather than ur race?

I'm not against any religion or anything...

I am Indian (born & raised in Ireland) & my family are Hindus.. they did raise me in Hinduism but I knew I didn't believe in God & I am an atheist but some still call me a Hindu... I am Indian... that's my ethnicity... Hinduism is a faith... bit if a difference!

Most people seem to assume that I am Christian/Catholic.

I am white, Irish heritage and I was raised Catholic.

I am agnostic. I don’t believe in a deity, but I believe in the spirituality of man.

I don’t really care anymore about what people assume about me. I can talk about biblical history if the occasion callls for it.

So, I let people believe what they wish. What I believe isn’t their concern anyway.

I grew up a Catholic (Hispanic family) and at age 24 I decided I was a RASTAFARIAN, they believe that cannabis will heal the nations and that is a holy plant.

@Cannabro oh I like that :)

Sounds like a more fun Holy Communion :P @Cannabro

I remember not knowing that at one time. Maybe they don't know either and are trying to be polite.

@Sysstem32 bit of both... I know it's easy to peg others...
Sysstem32 · M
We all do peg as you say. Even you.
BondGirl84 · 36-40, F
@Sysstem32 not denying it but always gud to have an open mind... we all have an instinct to peg or judge...
It's pretty common in the United States actually. Being part of certain religious groups really disqualifies one from being truly "American".

@CopperCicada common across the world I'm Indian born in Ireland & living in England & get it... I still get asked if I consider myself as Indian... although both my parents are Indian.. doesn't change my ethnicity lol

I don't identify anyone by religion or race. If they practice a religion I acknowledge it but I don't identify them as being such.

It would bother me if I was identified by either my race or religion. I would like to think there is more to me than that.

I can't believe people don't know the difference. We are living in an uneducated age.
Then just inform them you are atheist

@SStarfish oh I do just tell then... they just seem surprised is all... Yea it's possible to be something other than ur family... sometimes shocks ppl lol

Some people do not understand the difference or they don't care
