If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. [Spirituality & Religion]

That’s one of God’s Promises in 1 John 1:9, and He never breaks a promise.

8. Isn't hell the abandonment of God. Isn't hell the place where people are separated from God?
Quite the contrary. He came to save us from hell. He’s not willing that any perish. We’re all in the same boat...needing salvation and forgiveness of our sins. We all have sin, which separates us from God the Father, who is so Holy, he cannot even look upon sin, so that’s why Jesus, His Son, volunteered to be the Mediator between God and mankind. So when we come to Jesus to ask for forgiveness of our sins, He goes to his Father on our behalf and tells Him that the person asking, wants forgiveness. God readily forgives that person and welcomes him/her into His family, never abandons them, then they receive the Holy Spirit as a seal of His promise to forgive them and save them, and they can then enter into heaven forever since they have had their sins forgiven and paid for, by the blood of Christ.

Salvation comes free for us, just for the asking, but Jesus paid a very high price for our sins, so we could have eternal life in heaven. It didn’t come cheap for Him. But he did it because he loves us so much, and was willing to prove his love for us, by dying to pay our sin debt. That isn’t someone who hates us, or wants to harm us. That’s someone who was willing to die for us, so we could have heaven. He not only said he loves us...he proved it.
@correctingright
@LadyGrace Is that why all the pedophiles in the Church are allowed to not only stay but be protected by the Church? They just keep asking for forgiveness?
@Pitchblue First, let’s address why you think God abandoned you. That is not in His nature. At all. He didn’t come all the way from heaven to be nailed to a cross, then die for our sins, so He could abandon us. Just the opposite. To rescue us from hell.

@LadyGrace So what happens when we don't receive forgiveness and salvation and we die?
@LadyGrace Deflection. You deflected from my question about pedophiles. Why does the Church harbor pedophiles?
Jesus offers salvation. You can refuse it or not, but it’s like someone drowning. If the captain offers you a life jacket and you refuse, you’re going to die. Nothing he can do to help you, because you chose to refuse the help, and live. That’s your fault, not the captains. @correctingright
@Pitchblue Here we go. You deflected from my question I’ve asked two times now, from the start. It sounds to me, you’re just here to troll. You keep avoiding my question, so I can answer yours. For that reason, I have nothing more to discuss with you.
@LadyGrace More deflection! Why does the Church Harbor Pedophiles?
correctingright · 41-45, M
Yes, but God created hell. So your story would be the captain pushed the guy off the boat and said, unless you tell me you love me, I won't give this jacket.

If I loved someone, I would not put them in danger.

Sane moral people do not believe it's okay to torture people, even if it's a known terrorist. Not sure why it's okay for God to do it to people who he claims he loves.
@correctingright Don’t twist this around. No good Captain would push his passenger off the boat to drown, and you know it. Love or no love.

If it weren’t for Jesus, we’d all go to hell. Jesus IS love personified. We should be extremely grateful He came to save us, or would you like the alternative? You put yourself in danger by refusing the free gift of eternal life.

God created hell. Are you arguing against that point? Did someone else create hell?
Of course he did, but not for humans. Read the Bible. You don’t set the standard for salvation. That’s not up to you. God does. @correctingright
correctingright · 41-45, M
So why did he create hell? Why is it a place of torture?

Not for humans? Then why does the bible claim that we do?
@Pitchblue Why won’t you answer my question?
@Pitchblue Because humans can be corrupt and evil, whether they are supposedly church people, police, teachers, politicians Lol well we know the last one..
@correctingright If I thought you were serious, I’d answer all your questions, but I’m not going on with this, because I can see you’re not serious. You don’t want to know. You just want to argue. If you really want to know, seek and you shall find. All the answers you seek are in God’s Word. If your heart is eagerly seeking Him out, you’ll rush to the Bible for answers. Like the rest of us believers have.
correctingright · 41-45, M
The fact is you can't answer my questions. You say that we go to hell if we don't accept god. Then you say well, hell isn't for humans. So which is it? Unless of course you mean that hell is not for humans but god decided to allow humans to go there anyways and be tortured for all eternity.

Cheaters makes all kinds of claims. It doeesn't make them rational or even loving people despite what they say.

I'm quite done with this conversation too.
@correctingright I can answer your questions. I’ve been a follower of Jesus since July 21, 1973.

I said hell wasnt created for humans. I told you. God doesn’t send anyone to hell. Does it make sense to you that Jesus came from heaven to suffer such an agonizing death so that he could send people to hell? That’s nonsense. But if you refuse by your own will to reject him, there’s nothing he can do for you. He already died for you on the cross, to pay for your sins by his blood. What else do you want him to do? He’s done it all. Now it’s up to you to either accept him or reject him. He won’t go against your will. He will honor it, because it is your decision, not his.
@correctingright Any question that's uncomfortable won't be answered. She's had decades of misinformation shoved down her throat and she comes on here to spew the highlights. If you ask a legitimate question but she can't answer with one of the typical lines she just won't answer at all.
A true example of people who don’t know me, yet judge me. I answer questions people pose to me, but not trolls like you. If they don't wish to accept my answers, no problem at all. To each his/her own. @Pitchblue
@LadyGrace You said people asked Jesus for forgiveness and God forgives them so I asked is that why Pedophiles are protected in the Church but then you did not answer the question and have done everything in your power including insulting me to NOT answer the question. You think way to highly of yourself.
The church is not God, it is man made. It is only as good as the people in it. People can be corrupt even in churches. People use any avenue of influence to do wicked things, including the church. That shows how scummy some humans are. But blame the people involved, not the well meaning ones who go to church with the best intentions.
Yet you repeatedly refused to answer the accusation of how God abandoned you, and I told you let’s address that first, then we’ll cover the one on pedophiles. So no....that’s why I didn’t answer your question and you knew that. This tells me you’re just here to cause a stink. So answer my question as to how God abandoned you. I could say the same for you....You can’t answer the question, so you avoid it. So what is the answer. You’ve accused God, so tell me how he abandoned you. God never goes against His own promises.
@Pitchblue
@correctingright He does love them. He not only said He loves them. He proved it by dying on the cross to pay their sin debt, so they could be saved and not go to hell. If you love someone, you tell them, right? You wouldn’t force a woman you love, to marry you, if she didn’t want to. So you ask, out of respect to her...Will you marry me? If she said no, you would respect her wishes. You wouldn’t marry her, against her will. However, if she said yes, wouldn’t that tell you where her heart really is? Who she loves? Of course it would.

Jesus is no different. He wants to know where your heart is. He gives us an invitation to accept his proposal of heaven. Your answer tells him where your heart truly is. So that’s why he asks. He wants to know your answer. If you refuse his invitation, He’s not going to force you. You’ve made your choice.

Your sins have separated you from your Father in heaven. God did not create sin. Sin is a choice. We’re not perfect and God knows that. The fact still remains, however, that our sins separate us from God, so we needed a remedy for that. That was Jesus, who gave His life, to pay for your sins. However, he wants to know if you want him in your life. If so, you must be willing to invite him into your heart and life, as your Lord and Savior, so he knows that, and ask him to forgive you of your sins, which He will, as He turns no one away. Then He’ll send the Holy Spirit to live in you, and guide you, and with your sins forgiven, you’ll receive eternal life in heaven. That’s all it takes. It’s up to you.
