If you "know" that your god is real, what's the need to still say you "believe" in him? [Spirituality & Religion]

If you know something for a fact there is technically no further need to merely "believe" in it.
So why, if you claim you knew your god existed for a fact, do you still refer to it as your "belief"?

Belief follows truth. The truth is that my God lives and I believe He lives. His Spirit of Truth lives within my heart just like He can within your heart, if you'd let Him.

@GodSpeed63 The truth is that your god exists only in your imagination. Without your belief it would cease to exist.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@suzie1960 How do you know that? Where's your evidence? @Emosaur You've met me until a few days ago. If you'd met 40 years ago, I'd be a different person who didn't know God on a personal basis and wishing He weren't around.

@GodSpeed63 There is no evidence that your god exists in reality, therefore it can only exist in your mind. If you have real evidence that it is real, please present it.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
Do your homework will you? Find out the truth for yourself. Otherwise, you're just whistling in the wind and it's obvious your not here to seek after the truth.
suzie1960 · 61-69, F
@GodSpeed63 As I've told you several times but you seem incapable of understanding, I have done my research and found out the truth. It's about time you did yours instead of trying to argue from a position of ignorance.

It's obvious you're just here to spread more misinformation.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
Then your research is faulty. You added Jesus to your life rather than submit your life to Him. It's a wonder why you fell away from your faith so easily.
suzie1960 · 61-69, F
@GodSpeed63 You need to show how my research is faulty. Your unsupported allegation is worthless. You haven't even begun your research.

You're not recognizing the details that cry out, "Intelligent Design."
fazer1k · 56-60, M
@GodSpeed63 There are no details suggesting intelligent design. Animals are fundamentally flawed as a by-product of evolution - no intelligent designer would have done that.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
What animals are you talking about? There are lot of animals that are perfectly designed. We humans are perfectly designed. Be more specific.
fazer1k · 56-60, M
@GodSpeed63 Not one animal species is perfect. They all have junk DNA, inherited deficiencies and inherent weakness. Why would an intelligent designer create a whale with knuckle bones it has no use for? It's simple - it wouldn't. There is no intelligent design.
suzie1960 · 61-69, F
@GodSpeed63 What is it that you think cries out "intelligent design"? All the evidence points to evolution. Incidentally, despite trying, nobody has been able to prove The Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection is wrong.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
Too much detail and too much complicated evidence to make me believe it came all about by accident. Scientists are finding that out also.
suzie1960 · 61-69, F
@GodSpeed63 What are you talking about? As @newjaninev2 has shown, it's all elegantly simple. You asked for a detailed explanation.

Your "god" must be even more complicated so there is no possibility it occurred by chance. We're still waiting for your detailed explanation of how it did occur.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
@suzie1960 She gave me an explanation from a physical standpoint only and not from both physical and spiritual standpoints. Her knowledge of science is limited to the physical realm that we now live in. I don't expect you to understand because your bent on focusing your mind and heart to this realm only. That incident made you turn your back on the truth, like it or not.
suzie1960 · 61-69, F
@GodSpeed63 I know you don't like it but I turned my back on the lies of christianity and found the truth. Deny it all you like but you're arguing from ignorance.

You asked @newjaninev2 for a detailed explanation and she provided one you can't logically refute. We're still waiting for you to answer her questions and provide an equally detailed explanation of that magical man-in-the-sky you call god. Go on, get to work.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
I don't mean to argue with you, that's the last thing I want to do. I just don't understand your reasoning for leaving what you think are lies from Christianity. What ever lies they were made you turn your back on the truth. This is what I'm getting at.
suzie1960 · 61-69, F
@GodSpeed63 Like I keep saying, I did not turn my back on the truth. I broke free from the lies that are christianity when I found the truth. You might not like it but that is the truth of the matter.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
You wouldn't be talking this way if you didn't turn your back on the truth, because you'd know without a shadow of a doubt that God is real and His Word is true. Whatever incident happened to you, I'm sorry, and your wondering why God allowed such an incident to happen in your life. I wonder that myself sometimes and sometimes I find myself blaming Him for something going wrong in my life. Later on though, I apologize for it because it wasn't true. God gave me heart for the truth and I keep praying that I never trade for a lie, regardless.
suzie1960 · 61-69, F
@GodSpeed63 Just what does it take to get through to you? I've told you time and again I DID NOT TURN MY BACK ON THE TRUTH, I broke away from the lie that is christianity when I found the truth. Your wilful refusal to accept that fact does not change a thing.

You just can't accept the fact that devout christians can discover they've been deceived by christianity and free themselves from it. I get the distinct feeling that you secretly know I'm right, that you too have been deceived but you're too embarrassed to admit it. I can understand that, it's all part of the plan to keep you trapped. You need to do what I did, bite the bullet and take back control of your life.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
You were never specific on what lies you ran away from. If you've had a bad experience with Christianity, that's one thing, but don't blame God for that bad experience. Religious people can be ravenous wolves in sheep's clothing and can turn a lot of people away from a true relationship with the Father in Heaven. Whatever happened to you made you throw the baby out with bath water.
suzie1960 · 61-69, F
@GodSpeed63 I've been very specific, far more that you ever have. Once again, in big letters and typed slowly so you can keep up, I BROKE AWAY FROM THE LIE THAT IS CHRISTIANITY WHEN I FOUND THE TRUTH. I READ THE BIBLE AND DISCOVERED IT WAS JUST A JUMBLE OF MYTHS AND SUPERSTITIONS TAKEN FROM OLDER BELIEF SYSTEMS.. I do not blame your god because I'm convinced it doesn't exist outside your imagination. I know the idea that anyone could turn reject your imaginary friend is anathema to you but facts are facts. You can deny them all you like but you can't change them. You know I'm right, you just can't bring yourself to admit you're a victim of christian deception.
GodSpeed63 · 61-69, M
You're still claiming the same claims without being specific of what lies and myths that you supposed to run away from? You're like one of those who readily believed in the Gospel of Christ but when trouble came, you, like a flower that sprang up quickly but took no deep root, withered away in the hot sun. You weren't planted in good soil.
