Many theists claim "something can't come from nothing"... [Spirituality & Religion]

But, didn't their 'god' create the Universe from nothing?

Of course not. God is the source of energy, he is surely something, hence he created it through his own power in the process of "work".

Energy is matter, matter is energy, just different forms like ice is water.

@MartinTheFirst Energy, fitness... is the meaning of a 'god?'

I notice you use the word "he"
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@Phire1 "Fitness"??? Energy as in the rays of the sun, the movement of atoms within molecules, the magnetic forces which keeps our entire world from collapsing on itself.

Yes I use the word he like nearly all people do.
Phire1 · 51-55, F
@MartinTheFirst Nah, I don't use the word "he" when speaking about a 'god'
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@Phire1 In the Bible it's said that he is the "Father", it's only natural to say "he" if you believe in the Abrahamic God Jehovah.
Phire1 · 51-55, F
@MartinTheFirst I know. And I find that to be an issue
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@Phire1 Why so? How does that pose an issue in your life?
Phire1 · 51-55, F
@MartinTheFirst It's sexist, for one. Two, humans created all bibles and all bibles were created by men...
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@Phire1 Sexist hu? I don't think a God cares about our "sexism" issues here on earth... I'm pretty sure he still wants to be seen as the Father and that His decision has nothing to do with our human views of our genders/sex.

The scriptures were written by humans who were inspired by God, it all comes down to if you believe there's a God or not. There are answers, you just have to decide if you believe in them.
Phire1 · 51-55, F
@MartinTheFirst And yet, you continue to say it the way you do
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@Phire1 Continue to say what in what way?
TheMorningsStar · 26-30, M
@MartinTheFirst

Honestly, you should ignore her. Anyone that thinks that calling a god by the associated gender of said god is sexist is not worth your time.
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@TheMorningsStar Teaching is always worth my time, but I understand what you mean. 😊
Phire1 · 51-55, F
@TheMorningsStar Perhaps you should just ignore me instead of commenting on my post
Phire1 · 51-55, F
@MartinTheFirst How's that slavery idea working out for you in the Bible?
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@Phire1 slavery? We're all slaves to one thing or another mate. Aren't you a slave to this system? Your boss who gives you money to survive? The government that allows you your rights and a place to live? The society as a whole?

If you're not a slave then free yourself from all of these and then say "I can do whatever I want".
Phire1 · 51-55, F
@MartinTheFirst If you read your Bible, I'm sure you know what I'm talking about
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@Phire1 enlighten me 🤷
suzie1960 · 61-69, F
@Phire1 People who read the bible tend to be or become Atheists.
suzie1960 · 61-69, F
@MartinTheFirst So where did "god" come from? Did it appear out of nothing? Why couldn't the universe have occurred the same way "god" did?
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@suzie1960 God has always been. The universe could have been alwas existing, but we all know it hasnt. Not even a god can be born out of nothing
Phire1 · 51-55, F
@suzie1960 Some do become Atheists from reading the Bible, some do not.
Phire1 · 51-55, F
@MartinTheFirst What created a 'god?'
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@Phire1 God has always existed. He was never created. Something can not come from nothing, that goes against our universal laws. So even if he didn't exist there have to had always been something existing.
suzie1960 · 61-69, F
@MartinTheFirst The universe (as a singularity) has always existed. It was never created. Something can not come from nothing, that goes against our universal laws. So even if it didn't exist there have to had always been something existing.
MartinTheFirst · 26-30, M
@suzie1960 That's an acceptable explanation from an atheist. I believe in God though.
