Doubt it. People are just afraid of not existing, so they came up with a rationalization to protect themselves: "Oh, actually, no one ever 'really' dies." Or to dull the pain of loss.
Ironically, since they spent the most time in nonexistence, before they were born. Ahh, those were good times.
