The Worth of Just One Life [Spirituality & Religion]
Imagine you are a mother, living in poverty. You’ve given birth to 6 babies, and 5 died in infancy, mainly because of malnutrition and a genetic disease. Now, you are going to give birth again.
The doctor has mentioned that this will be a big risk, as even if the birth is successful, the boy may die in infancy.
What would you do?
Someone said, “Well, If I were the mother, perhaps I would have an abortion. Not because I am a ruthless parent, but because all the others died in infancy. Why would I risk another one? Even if the birth was successful, the boy may suffer his entire life.”
To which the doctor replied, “Congratulations - You just killed the most influential person in the classical music era. His name was Wolfgang Amadeus MOZART.”
