@kodiac Religion isn’t the problem. Sin is.

@LadyGrace How many sins are committed in the name of religion?
@kodiac Plenty, my friend!! Unfortunately, we have many phonies out there and they need to stop!! These are false prophets and teachers, who I might say are in really huge trouble with the Lord! However, God said don’t worry about other people, just take care of your own sins. That is because we are not responsible for anyone other than ourselves! I really cringe when I see these fakes on TV! It makes me sick.

@LadyGrace To me there is a huge difference between religion and belief . Religion is built on sin ,depends on it to continue to control people.
You are a wise young man!! There is a huge difference. Yet, we must be careful to say religion is built on sin. We all have sin in us, anyway. Yes, some religions do use it to control people.

Religion and religious leaders and their man-made philosophies, did not suffer and die on the cross for our sins...Jesus did.

Some religions teach that we can somehow do enough good to earn heaven or nirvana, but they don't address the fact that we continually make mistakes. Please note that our sins were paid for by Jesus' death on the cross, and that by accepting his payment and believing in him, we can be forgiven; we don't have to earn our way into heaven, which is a good thing, because we can't do it.

I believe Christ is the only way to God, because without the forgiveness that comes through his death and resurrection, there's no way for us to be able to have fellowship with God, or enjoy heaven for eternity.

Jesus warns us:

Matthew 7:15 - "Beware of false prophets who come disguised as harmless sheep but are really vicious wolves."

Colossians 2:8 - "See to it that no one takes you captive through vain philosophy and empty deception, according to the tradition of men, according to the elementary principles of the world, rather than according to Jesus Christ."
