I Am On My Own Spiritual Path

I love churches but I don’t find comfort in any one religion. I enjoy utilizing the best of many faiths as a direction for my own spirituality

That is called cherry picking and no one ever develops spiritually by cherry picking since each choice they make is likely in conflict with a different choice they make. All you wind up with is a big pile of mush.

@hippyjoe1955 please every religion ever formed was based on cherry picking read your Christian history again

@hippyjoe1955 I would have thought cherry picking, as you call it, is absolutely normal in any spiritual quest. The open mind searches and seeks out information and inspiration. The reason for most is not to find some composite pile of mush but rather to be guided through experience to a spiritual journey that works for them. It may or may not bring them back to an established religion for example, but I think most on that journey know well that a bit of this combined with a bit of that is not going to be enough. But to dismiss as mush, to me displays a closed mind, one might even say arrogant. But in this as in all things, we are all entitled to our opinion and to have it accepted or challenged.

@Petermatureuk3 well said Peter. I was hoping for a theologian debate with the hippie because Christianity is a religion of selection and rejection and the Bible has been translated so many times it’s veracity has certainly got to be questioned

@vertigoval Agreed!

@vertigoval It appears that your statement is made in pure ignorance but you are entitled to your own foolishness. If you had a clue what I meant it is blatantly missing in your response.

I won't respond to this. Wouldn't give such an arrogant, closed mind, the satisfaction.

What did you mean. It is clearly unclear
