Salvation Not Inherited From Family [Spirituality & Religion]

Just because one of your family or other relatives were a Christian, that does not mean you are. Salvation is not inherited through family.

It is true that even the devil "believes" in God. That is, he believes God exists. But this is a far cry from the kind of faith we are called to have.

To truly believe in God, means to trust Him. In other words, we not only believe he exists, but by faith, we ask him to forgive us of our sins, and be willing to turn away from them, receive his forgiveness, and begin a new life in Christ. We actually make a personal commitment to him. This is an individual decision. No one can make it for you. That is why He is referred to as "our personal Savior".

I didn't inherit salvation through my family. I found Jesus myself and that was when I found salvation. In other words, it was my own individual decision to begin a new life in Christ.
