Is there any practical difference between saying "god did it" and "it was done by magic" ? [Spirituality & Religion]

Why among theists is one of those answers accepted as a reasonable and the other rejected as fantasy?

Because deep down they know both are basically the same so they have to dismiss the one which isn't their faith.
