Circumcision [Spirituality & Religion]

To be clear, I am not in anyway religious but if as the bible says that man was created in god's image that's why men are born with foreskins? Is circumcision therefore an insult to god, saying in fact that a boy child "can be improved on" . Could it be said that each circumcision (without a medical reason) is an act of heresy? Just curious!
