Is atheism a religion? I was talking to a guy on here who seems to have fled following a claim he made. [Spirituality & Religion]

He seemed to be saying that because atheism is a response to theism/religion, that it is itself a religion.
This is obviously wrong but i was wondering if anyone has more...credible reasons why atheism should be considered a religion.

Yes, it is a religion. But, there are no such people that are atheists or a cult that is atheism even though they claim there is. Everybody either believes in the one true God, Jehovah,who lives forever,
or a dummy god who doesn't live at all. Dummy gods are gods that take the place of the one true God in a person's heart. They can be anything.

@VoloProVeritas62 You make a completely unsupported claim that atheism is a religion, and then follow that with another completely unsupported claim

@VoloProVeritas62 What did you smoke to come up with that word salad of nonsense?
VoloProVeritas62 · 61-69, M
@Celine @newjaninev2 @MethDozer Atheism is a type religion where non-believers claim to not believe in any god including the one true God, Jehovah. In reality, their claim is bogus being that they believe and have faith in some type of dummy god. The only atheists around are the non-believers lying six feet under their headstones. As long as these non-believers are alive, they're going to believe and have faith in something.

@VoloProVeritas62 Claiming "not to believe" is not faith and belief system.
We do not deny the possibility, just have no reason or evidence to convince too believe. We do not reject God, god, or gods so much, we reject blind faith which is what religion requires.

Name what we have faith in... 1-2_3 GO! Find the atheist faith and dogma. Find this made up dummy god of the atheists that only YOU believe exists.

@VoloProVeritas62
1. there's no proof that gods exist (or we'd all be theists)
2. there's no proof that magical entities don't exist (they might be lurking around a mountain-top somewhere)
3. there's no compelling necessity to postulate the existence of magical entities (and the postulation explains nothing... it seeks to merely explain everything away)
4. therefore I have no gods

Can you please specify where I claim to not believe in any god?
VoloProVeritas62 · 61-69, M
@Celine @MethDozer @newjaninev2 In the non-believing religion, the non-believers dummy god is evolution, even though there is no evidence for evolution. Their profit is Darwin and their so called, 'faith' is supposed to be science which points to the living God, not evolution. Yes, religion requires blind faith but the living God, Jehovah, doesn't require blind faith.

@VoloProVeritas62
there is no evidence for evolution
Hilarious! and completely irrelevant to any discussion of atheism.

nevertheless... would you like some evidence?
VoloProVeritas62 · 61-69, M
@Celine You miss the point. My point is ib the evidence. There is none for evolution and never will be but there is evidence for the one true God, Jehovah, who designed and created the heavens and the earth. Another thing to consider is that it's not about religion,it never has been or ever will be. It's all about a relationship with the one true God, Jehovah, through Jesus Christ by His Holy Spirit. That's what it is all about. Don't take my word for it, look it up.

@newjaninev2 Sure, go ahead.
VoloProVeritas62 · 61-69, M
@Celine I just did. It's not my opinion I'm sharing, it's what God share with me through His Spirit that dwells within me just like He can with you if you'd let Him.

@VoloProVeritas62 That moment when someone totally biased puts their opinion across.

@VoloProVeritas62 There's actually tons of evidence to suggest evolution.
I would best surmise you mean there is no single concrete lynch pin making it absolute in a unified and unwavering concrete fact. Which is dishonest at best since that is incredibly rare, if not nonexistent in any science. That's why science deals in theories.

@newjaninev2 I think I read something about Humans trying to brute force evolution using natural selection.

Oh wait...that's the entire livestock industry AND our pets...we've been using evolution as a tool for hundreds of years, hell, even more!
newjaninev2 · 56-60, F
and then, perhaps we can get back to your attempts to demonstrate that atheism is a religion?
VoloProVeritas62 · 61-69, M
@Celine @MethDozer What evidence would support evolution? Let me ask you something, if I may; Which came first, the chicken or the egg?
Fangirlsarah1996 · 26-30, F
@VoloProVeritas62 An incredibly vague question that does nothing to answer the question of "Is evolution real"

Even then, they proved the egg came first DECADES ago.
