If a neanderthal's dna were somehow to be transferred into a viable human cell, is there any way it could survive in human civilization today? [Spirituality & Religion]

I think a few already have in Australia where I live, and are doing quite well for themselves masquerading as politicians.

@LyricalOne I have had my turn already, just could not resist this one
According to '23 and Me', I have more 'neanderthal markers' than 97% of everyone who has ever taken the test. I'm so proud!

@puck61 Hi. Is that grounds for divorce in your country? Maybe that test should be made compulsory for all parliamentary candidates like the citizenship test.

@puck61 On second thought that may not be a good idea. Proven neanderthals may get more votes.

Most of us have some Neanderthal DNA in us, up to about 1%. I suspect, like you do, there are some walking around with more Neanderthal than Homo Sapiens.

Supposedly I have a lot of it. Probably why I'm not giving up meat.

@Tastyfrzz They're doing quite well disguised as politicians, public servants and IT managers. That's MANAGERS, they're not so sharp when it comes to CODING. My brand new wireless magic mouse and keyboard lasted about a year and I never hit them even once with a stone axe.
