@questionWeaver I always thought it’s part of the culture brought by the British to the new world..They are mostly protestant(reformatus) aren’t they? I might be completely off on this one tho

Beyond the family gatherings and entertaining of tradition, and so forth, to me personally, Christmas has meant a sort of thanks giving, for having certain people in my life that I love and care about, a reflection on the stability and security I find myself in, and ultimately, a cosy nod to the years end and a new beginning.
