Why do atheists get mad when people tell them or talk about God ? [Spirituality & Religion]

If you do not believe then that is your business. I will not try to change your own personal beliefs in any way, shape or form. We have people who are believers, and we have people who are not. I am not in the business of patronising anybody for their beliefs or ideology. But if you challenge me, then I will respond as I see fit. That is the difference between trying to teach people, and teaching people when they ask a question.
I often wonder though why some atheists get mad when people tell them or talk about God. Its like they get so offensive, or agitated.
Its like when Democrats and Republicans argue about who is right or wrong.
What do you think SW. ☺

I’ve always experienced it the other way around. There’s many people who speak about god openly and that’s fine, but that doesn’t mean people are obligated to listen. I’ve experienced more aggression from people who believe versus those who don’t. They automatically assume everyone believes in god, they want you to respect their beliefs but them pushing, assuming, or bombarding their belief on others is that really respect towards these individuals they’re speaking to? There’s so many people who’ll just randomly talk to me about god whether I’m at the grocery store waiting in line or just in the parking lot minding my own business. This lady came up to my friend and I while we were talking in the parking lot and just went on about how my friend should pray for her baby and how she can talk about Jesus to her baby even while she’s pregnant with him (because she was pregnant at the time) and although my friend is a Christian but how does she know she’s a Christian ? What if she has a completely different belief or doesn’t believe in anything at all? Seems like you guys are always wanting people to respect your beliefs, but are you respecting other’s ? Just because someone doesn’t want to hear about it doesn’t mean they’re being disrespectful towards it.
