Can a relationship work between a christian and an atheist? [Spirituality & Religion]

I don’t believe so in the long run I think eventually it’ll get in between certain things in the future if the relationship is long term.
@Stark I believe in God and my wife of 13 years is an atheist and one thing we have never fought over is our belief systems. We both respect each others right to believe or not as it might be.
So in my experience it definitely can.
@ShadowedWhispers from what I’ve noticed it doesn’t seem to work but I’m sure that’s not always the case. Seems the person either converts or doesn’t believe strong enough in their religion. I’m curious, how does it work with the children do you just have them choose their own religion as they get older ?
@Stark Yep. That’s exactly what we’ve done. Our kids favor my belief in God but neither of us would push them one way of the other as that would restrict their own freedom of choice and that freedom is one thing we both belief in.

@ShadowedWhispers Does it get difficult sometimes though? Like for example, is it hard sometimes not to mention religion in conversations, like if something great happened and you say thank God. God helped me through this? Sorry it's hard for me to explain what I mean.
@ShadowedWhispers that’s odd
@summerlove I don’t shy from my beliefs. I say thank god when I want to thank god. She does not as she doesn’t belief there is one. I accept her and she accepts me and neither of us would belittle the other for our choice of belief.
@Stark It works for us though. And honestly, nobody really knows, either one of us could be right or even neither. My faith gives me comfort and she says she finds comfort in her absence of it.
