But doesn't that depend on who's telling the 'truth' to begin with? Not everyone who might declare they are telling the truth is, in fact, telling the truth. How do I, you (anyone else) decipher what is the truth if we don't have a clear enough understanding to even begin to form a firm, honest opinion of our own?

If only life was as simple as to say we need to believe in the 'truth', when there are those times the truth is, in fact, hidden from us.

@Justbychance There is objective Truth and our whole society until the last 50 years has been premised upon it. Now we have rejected objective Truth we are floundering and shall soon pass away as a great society.
@hippyjoe1955 If I believe what you say or disbelieve, it doesn't alter the fact that the truth (as you know it) is the truth for someone else. I certainly wouldn't challenge your Faith in the slightest. But, for whatever reason, you want to put your belief over to others there really is a better way than declaring that those who don't appear to believe are living a lie. You might, for instance, start by asking who believes and who does not believe. That way you will get straight answers and, should you want to do so, you can then consider explaining your belief to others rather than 'simply' declaring they are wrong.

It seems you don't want a conversation, but rather explain to other's that 'your truth' is the only truth. Once you have done that, the entire question itself is closed rather than left open.

@Justbychance What I don't want is people spreading the lie that truth is subjective. Truth is objective just as lie is objective. Just because you say it or believe it does not make it true. Just because you deny it or don't believe it does not make it a lie. You are subjective. Truth is objective. Those who deny Truth believe the lie.
@hippyjoe1955 *sigh* I'm struggling with how you open up a question without even explaining exactly what it is that you mean and then answer as curtly as you do. From where did you come up with the idea that (among humanity) that truth is all-embracing in how we are given the truth? That's far from a fact and what you didn't state at the very beginning was that you are a man of Faith. I accept what may be a fact to you in what YOU believe; who am I to say you are wrong? I accept that and how you feel about that. What I struggle with is the way you somehow come up with a simplified equation of what 'Truth' itself is without even bringing other important aspects into the equation in regard to your Faith and that word 'Grace' which seems to be of little importance to you and yet plays an important part in what you are out to prove here.

I'm not coming back to the conversation, but I wish you well. Take care :)

@Justbychance Seek the Truth and you will know. Deny the Truth and you will continue to believe the lie. The problem is you don't want to believe there is Truth likely because you are more comfortable with the lie..
