Here's a thought about Heaven and Life... [Spirituality & Religion]

As heaven is described, it would seem to be a place of greatness. Of absolute truth, of completeness, of eternity. But in this existence, we are comparatively so blind, ignorant, and incomplete. We live in a darkness deeper than that of Hell, insomuch as that at least in Hell, you know what the truth is. But here, we are unsure of anything. So the question is, why do we call this life, and say that we proceed to heaven in death? Surely it's the other way around. Surely this is death that we're in, and what comes after is life. Why, if we believe Heaven to be such, do we mourn "death" at all? Is it not in this case more like birth? Should we not be joyous at the passing of a loved one into such a realm? Why do we fear it so? Is that that we cannot overcome our own selfishness in losing them? Or that even in the pious among us, we cannot blot out that mortal affliction of doubt and uncertainty?
