I don't think so. In some things, yes, but not all. For example, one cannot save themselves from the consequences of sin. Only Jesus can do that.

hi ladyvera
Plainly humans are totally dependent on others for significant periods of their lives. When able sure look after yourself and look after others as you yourself have been and shall be looked after. We are social animals.
Best wishes

hi ladyvera
well anyone on SW has to at least have access to them. That just makes my point even more though. Sure some own houses and some rent them and some live in them within family groups. It is simply hard to be an isolated self sufficient individual which is fine as we are social animals.

@sogdianrock That's one way of looking at it. the other is that we are alone in our bodies. noone can truly walk in our shoes and some journeys the most epic ones can only be taken alone like death for example people can be around to soothe and guide that journey but you are the one who has to go through it

I have been on my own since I was 17 and you have to rely on yourself. Having family to rely on helps as well

I could NOT agree more! So refreshing to see someone who takes full responsibility for her life instead of the endless whining here.."life is unfair" and the many, many 18-21 year olds who all seem to be suicidal or the ones who have not been in a relationship for 9 minutes and are devastated because they are "alone."

so true ! whats fair anyway ? lol ! one has to as much as possible be the master of your destiny

Exactly...or, in our case . Mistress of our own lives.:> That "life is unfair" whine is particularly annoying...as if life were an organism, making decisions about who to be fair to and who not to. We are responsible for the quality, or lack thereof, of our happiness and misery. Every minute we are creating our life.

In ways you are quite correct. One thing for sure....the only one that truely has to like and love you is yourself. Anyone else is a bonus in life!
