Do you believe in God? Why or why not? [Spirituality & Religion]

I was raised Christian, but frankly, I couldn't understand how a "kind" God would let horrible things happen to good and innocent people. I've been an atheist for over 10 years, yet I find myself wondering about religion sometimes.

Edit: Wording.

I don't believe in any sort of God, mainly along the same lines as yourself. What sort of God would allow pedophilia or children to suffer? Now, that doesn't mean there can never be a god of some sort. I feel like anything is possible since we know hardly anything about the Universe and what's in it. There could always be some extraterrestrial that exhibits god-like powers for example. For now thpugh, since there's no real evidence of any god as of yet, I don't believe.

@SW-User Exactly, I could have listed hundreds of reasons myself, but it boils down to why would an all-knowing, all-loving God let people suffer. Plus, if there is a God, it is likely that we humans are on such a lowly level evolution-wise that we wouldn't be able to comprehend them.
