I think Agnostic would better define what they are.

I don't. I don't think agnostic is even possible position in believing in god.
You can not be sure if god exists but believe he does or you can not be sure if god exists but believe he doesn't.
That means you're either agnostic theist or agnostic atheist (the only kind of atheist an intelligent person can be)

Agnostic is believing there is no proof of a god, but there is also no proof for the lack of one either.

And does that person believe in the existence of god|?
If the answer is anything but 'yes', they are an atheist.

No, they are not. There is a fundamental difference between the two.
One says there absolutely is no god.
The other says there is no proof of one, but could still be one.

Nope. An atheist says "i believe no gods exist" or " i find no reason to believe gods exist".
As a rule, no atheist claims to know that absolutely no god exists.
So if you're agnostic then you don't know if god exists or maintain that there is no way to prove god exists.
That means if asked "do you believe in god?" you must at least answer "i don't know".
You haven't said 'yes, i believe in god', therefore you lack belief that god exists. Therefore you are an agnostic atheist.

@MetalGreymon Well you can choose to continue to believe that if you want, but you are wrong. I invite you to read a dictionary or encyclopedia. You cannot choose to change the definition of something just because you do not agree with it.

Wow. VERY compelling counterargument😏
Definition of agnostic. 1 : a person who holds the view that any ultimate reality (such as God) is unknown and probably unknowable; broadly : one who is not committed to believing in either the existence or the nonexistence of God or a god.
Not committed to a belief....So...provisionally lacking a belief in god.
And what is someone called who lacks a belief in a god?
lol bingo
but you are wrong
