The Magnificent Seven – Main Theme, Elmer Bernstein (composer)

[media=https://youtu.be/yulmgTcGLZw]
Today is National Film Score Day. In recognition of the day, I’ve posted the main theme for the 1960 film, The Magnificent Seven. Elmer Bernstein composed the piece, as well as the rest of the film’s score.

I think I might have posted this one before, but I don’t care. It’s such great music that it’s worth posting more than once.

Agreed, great music! A little bit of it at the 22 sec mark reminded me of an old Marlboro commercial (yes, I'm that old). Repeats again at 3:20.

If I recall correctly, the plot of The Magnificent Seven is based on a Kurosawa samurai movie called Seven Samurai.

@ElwoodBlues The movie was indeed based on Kurosawa's 1954 film.

As for the Marlboro commercials, I've seen some of them on YouTube. They were very well done. Certainly better than a lot of the commercials we see today. Too bad they were advertising such a deadly product.
