“The Golden Lady” – The Three Degrees

“The Golden Lady” is the theme song for a 1979 film of the same name. It was performed by the soul/R&B vocal group, The Three Degrees, and was co-written by lead singer Sheila Ferguson. The group is best known for their hit songs, “When Will I See You Again” and "TSOP (The Sound of Philadelphia)".
The movie got scathing reviews and seems mostly forgotten now. Unfortunately, the theme song—a catchy disco/Philadelphia soul tune—didn’t fare well either. The song was released as a single in only a few countries (the UK, Spain, Germany) and peaked at a modest #56 on the UK singles chart. It failed to chart in the other countries where it was released.
