“Come Saturday Morning” – The Sandpipers

Lovely, evocative song recorded by the folk-rock trio, the Sandpipers. It was the theme song for the 1969 movie, The Sterile Cuckoo.

Written by Dory Previn and Fred Karlin, “Come Saturday Morning” was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song in 1970.

It was released twice as a single and did better the second time, peaking at #17 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart and #5 on the Easy Listening chart.
