“Hurt So Bad” (1965) – Little Anthony and the Imperials

[media=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cyUtEWaJI-g&list=LLhU0t_mv5YMhInrzx5hTBGg&index=3&t=0s]

Classic pop ballad from the mid-1960s.

It has been recorded by many performers, including Linda Ronstadt and The Lettermen, who both had great success with their versions of the song.

My favorite version of “Hurt So Bad” is the original one by Little Anthony and the Imperials. It’s one of the New York vocal group’s biggest hits, reaching the top ten on the US singles chart and the top five on the US R&B chart.

It should be noted that the Imperials were founded in 1958 and are still performing. There have been personnel changes over the years, as one might expect, but two of the original members–"Little Anthony" Gourdine and Ernest Wright–are with the group today.

Also, Ernest Wright turns 79 years old today. Happy birthday to Mr. Wright.

@Vivaci Yes it is. Very powerful. But no worries, I'm fine. 😊 🤗
