Sometimes we forget just how blessed we are.

This is one of my favorite hymns that I used to sing before the church. I can't wait to sing it again. I just love the words. It has always been such a blessing to me. I hope you enjoy it, too. At the end is the soundtrack.

Hallelujah Square

I saw a blind man tapping along,
losing his way,
as he passed through the throng
Tears filled my eyes,
I said, "Friend you can't see,"
but, with a smile on his face,
he replied to me...

I'll see all my friends
in Hallelujah Square,
what a wonderful time,
we'll all have up there!
We'll sing and praise Jesus,
His glory to share,
and you'll not see one blind man
in Hallelujah Square.

Now, I saw a cripple
dragging his feet,
he couldn't walk,
like we do down the street
I said, "My friend,
I feel sorry for you,"
but he said, "Up in Heaven,
I'm gonna walk just like you!"

I'll see all my friends
in Hallelujah Square,
what a wonderful time
we'll all have up there!
We'll sing and praise Jesus,
His glory to share,
and you'll not see one cripple
in Hallelujah Square!

And I saw an old man,
gasping for breath,
soon he'd be gone,
as his eyes closed in death.
He looked at me
and said, "Friend don't feel blue,
for I'm going up to Heaven,
now how about you?"

I'll see all my friends
in Hallelujah Square,
what a wonderful time
we'll all have up there!
We'll sing and praise Jesus,
His glory to share,
and we'll all live forever,
in Hallelujah Square!

I remember this song. It’s been a while since I’ve heard it because the church I go to doesn’t sing hymns as much as contemporary music. They sang it at the church I went to as a teenager. I can still recall how the pastor’s wife sounded when she sang it. 🙂
@Colonelmustardseed yes, you know that's just a song you don't forget and I know what you mean exactly about hearing the person's voice that sing it because I'm the very same way. I really miss the churches singing the good old gospel hymns because there's nothing like them today. Nothing beats their wonderful message and words. They have really taken a lot out of gospel music by playing this modern contemporary music. Don't get me wrong. I love some of it for example the song Like A Rose, but there's not too many I like over the Old Time Gospel music. It's just not the same and it doesn't bring the same feelings. One could really feel the Holy Spirit In Those Old Time hymns and they really brought a lot of people to Christ from their testimony. It makes me feel so happy that you remember this particular song. Here's another one I don't know if you've heard but let me know. I just love this song so much and especially the sweet lady that sings it, Vestal Goodman. I could listen to this song all day long and never get tired of it.

@LadyGrace This is my first time hearing that one. It’s nice. 🙂
@Colonelmustardseed I'm glad you like it. Who is your favorite gospel singer?
@LadyGrace I like the way the band, Celtic Worship, sings hymns I know. Their version of “Come Thou Fount” is my favorite.
@Colonelmustardseed that is very beautiful, yes.
