We were two equally happy drunks, young and carefree. I worked with her and dated her brother and slid right into their family like a hand in glove. The old jukebox at the bar where we liked to spend our weekends laughing, shooting pool, and getting schnockered silly had this song. It was “our song.” Not mine and her brother’s, but mine and hers. Two happy drunks belting out Patsy Cline and laughing like loons. I should probably pity the poor souls who had to listen to us, but I just smile at the memory now. The good ones are precious. 😌
