LOL. I remember these. Where I grew up, this was what we did for both an earthquake drill and an air raid drill. Even at the age of 5, I knew this was worthless against a nuclear attack.

@BizSuitStacy Only the fire drill was different
@cherokeepatti True. And that one made sense.
@cherokeepatti Yes. We had to go outside.

@BizSuitStacy Some jackass in junior high would stuff a chunk of sulfur in the heat vents and the alarm would go off and we’d have to go outside and wait till they cleared the smoke. Happened several times and of course always in cold weather
@cherokeepatti LOL. Nobody was that clever at my school. But I do remember one kid throwing a basketball at another kid and hitting the fire alarm instead.

@BizSuitStacy We had an all school assembly early one morning in junior high school. We had previously had motivational speakers who tried to get cool with us by ordering the teachers to leave. So we didn’t know what to expect this time. After everyone was inside the teachers closed the exit doors and the principal came up to the stage to speak. Then within a minute we hear a motorcycle revving up outside the building and then it went racing VROOOOOOOOOOM down the hallway past the auditorium and principals office. Whoever did it had to have two others to help by holding open the doors at the ends the hallway. We were first stunned because it was so loud, and most of us thought it was another stunt to get our attention by yet another motivational anti-drug speaker. Then the laughing starting. The principal and teachers rushed out of the doors to see if they could catch sight of whoever was involved. But it was too late. We had our suspicions figuring out who had a motorcycle and was absent that morning but we didn’t rat people out when no harm was done. Anyway from then on several teachers had to stay back in the hallways to guard the building anytime there was another assembly.
@cherokeepatti I'm kinda wishing I went to your school. 🤣

@BizSuitStacy Seriously my class was very good compared to the two classes above mine, they were regular heathens. In 9th grade teachers complimented our class more than once, including in assemblies. That motorcycle prank was funny but harmed no one. The older ones used to grab the 7 th graders and rack them on poles after school and that sort of bully thing. Plus a lot more vandalism
@cherokeepatti Those were clever pranks. Probably the most outrageous thing that happened at my junior high was some kids went streaking. That was kind of a fad at the time.

@BizSuitStacy The streaking happened in my Senior year of high school. I was sick and at home the day a streaker ran through the high school assembly. Someone took a photo and put it in the yearbook, his butt was blanked out but even though his face was wrapped with a t- shirt he had a very large elongated mole on his back and I am sure everyone who had a gym class with him knew who he was.
@cherokeepatti I didn't see the streaking either. Probably just as well since I think it was 100% sausages.

@BizSuitStacy I was also sick the time the Maharishi Mahesh made a stop at the school to speak. Wasn’t into that but wanted to hear what he had to say anyway. I think he was here to make an appearance at the university that evening.
