Ben Gibbard(Postal Service) - Recycled Air (Live Acoustic on KEXP)

[Verse 1]
I take a breath
And pull the air in till there's nothing left
I'm feeling green
Like teenage lovers between the sheets

[Bridge]
Ba ba ba ba
Ba ba ba ba
Ba ba ba ba
Ba ba ba
Ba ba ba ba
Ba ba ba ba
Ba ba ba ba
Ba ba ba

[Verse 2]
Knuckles clenched to white
As the landing gear retract for flight
My head's a balloon
Inflating with the altitude

[Bridge]
Ba ba ba ba
Ba ba ba ba
Ba ba ba ba
Ba ba ba
Ba ba ba ba
Ba ba ba ba
Ba ba ba ba
Ba ba ba

[Verse 3]
I watch the patchwork farms'
Slow fade into the ocean's arms
And from here they can't see me stare
The stale taste of recycled air
I watch the patchwork farms'
Slow fade into the ocean's arms
Calm down, release your cares
The stale taste of recycled air

I had a friend who almost died drowning. They said it was panic until their lungs filled with water, then they felt heavily sedated and had rainbow filled vision, then nothing until they were revived

@faery Well I’m glad for you both that CPR worked!!

Edit: I have been present for the unfortunate incident where CPR didn’t work on a child and it haunts me to this day as the saddest thing I’ve ever witnessed and I have seen adults who have died in front of me several times but nothing upsets me more than that unfortunate vivid memory. 😔

I think it would be scary

@tobynshorty I don’t exactly understand how this was obtained and verified but if you compare it to other methods like burning to death I think it would be pretty relaxing.idk.

Edit:
“The idea that drowning is a relaxing death stems from observations that, while a struggle ensues initially, a sense of peace and calm often takes over as the body succumbs to the effects of hypoxia and brain hypoxia. This is coupled with the quickness of the process, which can be a matter of seconds, and the fact that drowning is often a subtle, quiet event.”
