THE RETAIL APOCALYPSE [I Ve Got Something To Say]

Along with the stores mentioned in my earlier post,Macys ,Victoria secret,Gamestop, walgreens drugstores, The gap, Aldo shoes ,plan to close their stores across the us .Mean while Amazon plans to take over many the spaces left by dept stores in the malls to open what they are calling distribution centers,to further their hold on the retail market. this information came from the us census bureau , things are looking grim for people of the us .but it is hard to ignore whats happening, if what they say is true it will only add to the to the decline that the us is facing.

Walgreens is only shutting 3% of their stores. Macy's is closing about 20% of their stores. It's a chain that's been struggling for 30 years. Victoria Secret is closing about 22% of their stores in North America. I'd hardly call it an apocalypse. The fact is brick and mortar stores have been losing ground for years due to online shopping.

The pandemic really did a number on all businesses across the world. The large chains are getting rid of the stores that show the lowest profit margins. Although I don't disagree we are going to be facing some tough economic hardship by next year, I don't think it's going to be the U.S. that will be the only country struggling. We've already entered an inflationary period. The market will take a hit, no matter who the President is.

@english We're supposed to be because we keep cackling about it. I'm not so sure we are. But, we're definitely louder than anyone else! 🤭

Small business have been treated terribly.
What I am seeing in the UK though, is many independent retailers who were forced off the High Street by the big named stores are selling products via amazon.
