I Have Something to Say and I Want to Be Heard

Ok let’s try this again....

A Clarification of TOS in regards to naming users in posts.

Please do not tag, mention another user, or include identifiable data in any post that could be deemed negative, violent, or in any way derogatory.

If you have a problem with another useful do not call them out in posts or resort to name calling. While healthy debate is sometimes part if the fun, please keep in mind that violence toward other members , name calling, or other bashing could result in your account being reported. Please help us keep the site a positive place for all members by refraining from posting negative posts about other members.

Some things that are allowed:
Tagging users in a post in a celebratory manner, such as birthdays, thank yous, and other friendly and positive ways.

Tagging a user to reply to their message on your thread (within the comments only.)

We have seen an increase in reporting for the above mentioned negativity so please, rather than asking us to intervene take the steps to settle the matter in a peaceful way if possible or block the person. That is the quickest way to handle the negativity until we are able to address your reports

Thank you

[c=#4C0073]Why not just remove the tag feature? Problem solved. Then people can’t tag anyone in anything.[/c]

@VioletRayne that's a major step backwards though, I like being able to call friends attention to a post so they see it :|

@VioletRayne Because there are legit uses. And @Jessa29's update makes it clearer that the rule is about the negative uses, not a blanket ban.

@VioletRayne "mention another user" The tagging feature is incidental, anyway positive mentions are allowed. However, to be quite honest, the same people (without naming names) who are complaining about people calling pedophiles for example out by username are same people who are themselves making posts about "That disgusting spanking poster". Are we supposed to report everybody who speaks ill of anybody, or is it just enforcing arbitrary morals?

The whole rule seems like a nightmare to enforce, but fine, as long as it's actually written up somewhat clearly somewhere that ALL/new users can see it.

@Faust76 [c=#4C0073]I think it’s retarded because calling out pedophiles is legal in most nations. 🤣[/c]

@VioletRayne Well, I mean that one admittedly is slander if it's not true, so meh... I'm trying not to be nit-picky over this, but it raises so many questions in my mind. But chief one is I've been here years & read ToS through several times, but this is the first time I hear of this rule officially.

The libel type laws might actually be closest analogy to what this is after though, I mean like you can insult Trump or AOC, but you can't accuse non-public figures of crimes without them having been found guilty in court of law? But is catfish okay? Is slut? Is snowflake? So many questions!
