Ever Served With Others On A Board?

I am a pretty easy person to get along with. I began serving on a board to help out. It has become a negative experience. Infighting, personality conflicts, politics, has developed and it disgusts me. Board members have resigned, there have been power grabs. I will be done at the end of May. I think i will not seek to stay on.

Never volunteer to go on a board. Volunteer to run the show yourself, but don't volunteer to share that responsibility with even one other person because there are too many egos involved which desperately need appeasing.

It's bad enough dealing with our own ego on most days without having to accommodate the ego of several others you have to get along with in the process.
