Do you call a monster a monster if you are the one responsible for making it so?

Do you call a child difficult to love and call them out for not being able to tolerate nor accept other's weakness and limitations, when at the time they wanted to remain a child the most, you let them start carrying you to the point they had no choice but defy and overcome their own weaknesses and limitations, even forgetting their own selves in the process, for the sake of "righteousness, family and love"?
If the child evolved into something so different from the innocent version you once knew, how did you think it happened?
The child was a child when she had to step up and be general.

All these years, did you get to ask the questions? What did the child face? What did she had to become to survive? To thrive?
Does she recognize herself? Is she who she wants to become? What does she want for herself? Is she still alright? Does she still want to live? For how long? What is hurting her heart?
Is she still able to dream?
Does she still know who she is? Does she know her worth beyond being a general?
Why do you blame her?

She cannot be a child. Because she would have died if she didn't change.
No child could carry what she went through. No ordinary adult could endure it.
No weak person could manage the things she did while wearing a smile.
So if she hates weakness, does it not make sense? She could not afford weakness. She could not afford having someone to cry on. So why would she accept an excuse?
She cannot remember the last time she even made one and had it accepted.
There is no excuse when you're at war.
There is no time to hesitate when you have things and people you have to protect and care for.

Weakness? She'll close her eyes, and find a way to fight and overcome.
Vulnerability? She'll grit her teeth and pick up a sword and shield.
Fear? So easily ignored.

So tell me. How can she dare still be a child?

I do not understand.
I do not understand.
