Are you vague?

Do you fail to see people understand you? Does your argument spark debate, or do you find you are almost ignored because you don’t ground anything you say or add to a discussion?

In the current climate I'm too verbose. I remember when Twitter started being so frustrated at the 140 char limit.

My first ever tweet was "Brevity obfuscates the argument."

So I know I lose people as now they have shorter and shorter attention spans and I try to lay out the background, the data, the analysis and my conclusions. And people just can't be bothered to listen they want the three or four word slogan that means nothing in reality and only enhances the feelings of frustration that nothing improves.

Btw - the above is an example of me whittering on and losing people.

@OldBrit I can be verbose too, especially in the office! It is something I work on, getting the essence of what I want to say in my first two sentences.

@Ximenajacoba I've never felt like I've ever cracked it

@OldBrit I don’t think it’s easy, especially if you’re an educated and experienced in how people react to situations

No, I think I usually get my point across pretty well… I perfected this skill over many years of social interaction on social media
But sometimes a person seems determined to misunderstand you. Matter how hard you try, they don’t understand.
