I've posted before about people mistaking me for a teenager...

...and most people think that it's such a great thing looking over a decade younger...

Well I found an article written by a lady who goes through the same thing.
She even included a picture of her. While I do not look as young (in my opinion) and my body is no where near her size, I understand fully how she feels.

If the article is too long, here are some excerpts below:
I was at the airport, waiting for a TSA full-body scan, when the woman managing the line asked me, “Are you old enough to go in the scanner?”

As a camp counselor, teacher, or professor... I would often hear, “How old are you?” or “Are you a student?”
...Would you appreciate having your educational efforts and experience reduced or erased with a glance?
After my college graduation, my family and I went to go eat. I wore my graduation cap, cords, and a stole with the university name on it. A man congratulated me, then asked " have you decided what college to go to"?
(In case you are wondering, I was wearing an above-knee fitted dress, and heels).

So when I say I fully understand how ]this lady feels, I fully understand.
Your accomplishments get WIPED AWAY with a glance.

I know someone is going to "you'll be happy when you're older". Well that doesn't change how it affects me in the present.

When I first started college I lived on campus and my mom would visit from time to time. Sometimes to bring me little comforts from home. It never failed someone would stop us to ask are we sisters are twins. It was very irritating for me. One time this guy invited my mother to a party, and I'm just standing there and he is like "oh and you can come too" I just yelled at him she is old enough to be your mom and walked away.

I asked my husband how old he thought the person in the article was, without showing or telling him anything about the article or this post, and he said 50 years old. 😅

I used to get this but when I hit 50 it was a really good thing when my age came up and people would tell me I looked 10+ years younger than my real age. Believe me that didn’t offend me.
It can be both a blessing, and a curse.

I wonder how many are denied the seniors dicount on looks alone 😅

Hahah I totally relate to this. Its my favorite when women my age make comments that I wasn't probably born when Justin Bieber came out. Honestly it does suck being treated differently and like I am stupid because they think I am 12.
