They didn't need Bibles when Jesus was crucified and raised from the dead. They saw Him in person, and for at least 40 days after He resurrected, they watched Him walk amongst them again...alive...and then over 500 people watched Him ascend up to heaven, to go back to His Father in Heaven.
He not only said He loves us... He proved it on the cross, showing us that if we will only believe and trust in Him to rescue us from the condemnation that sin placed on us, we too, shall have eternal life in heaven, as we ask Him to forgive our sins. Without Him, that never would have been possible, as we cannot forgive our own sins. You will see what Jesus did for us in this beautiful video. None other on Earth, sacrificed their life to save us. None other has His power, and not one, ever proved they did. Spirituality alone and without Christ, cannot save us...but Jesus can. And does. Turn to Him and He will never turn you away. All who ask, receive salvation.
Jesus didn't die to save certain religious groups. He didn't die to save churchgoers. He didn't die to save the spiritual. Those are all empty without Jesus as Savior. He died for the whole world, so we could all be saved. No one will ever love you like Jesus.

Such an amazing point we often forget today- the Bible only recently so to speak has become widely accessible and we should never take reading God's word for granted! But God still sustained Christians faith even without them.
