How do you overcome trust issues? Is it even worth it?

Isn't it a positive adaptation to distrust in such a world, as long as you don't let it show?

Who was it who said, "Trust but verify" ? Having one’s guard up isn’t a bad thing, but it can be a lonely life not to ever let anyone in.

@bijouxbroussard I believe that's an old Soviet adage KGB if I'm not mistaken. (I was a fan of the Chernobyl series. But oof...was nightmare fuel.)
@huskyguy89 I just looked it up: It is an old Russian proverb, but it was made popular in the U.S. by none other than Ronald Reagan, not someone I generally quote. 😄

@bijouxbroussard likewise. But I mean words of wisdom are words of wisdom even if the source isn't necessarily someone we'd like them coming from.😄 I'm right there with ya on ol' Reagan. I'm young enough I missed his term but I'm a history lover.
